Activities for Children Under 24 Months
For children in this age group, activities will fit around their feeding and sleeping patterns that are established by the family. We promote a range of activities for this age group including:
- One to one singing and talking
- Lots of eye and physical contact
- Regularly changing the baby's position
- Use of interesting toys like gyms, feely mats, chewing toys, rattles and activity centres
- Heuristic play to promote exploration
- Working on sitting and mobility skills
- Story time - we believe babies are never too young to be introduced to books
- Provision of water, sand, sensory and music
Activities for Children Between 2 and 5 Years
Children in this age group will be observed by teams developing the play and enhancing the learning provision and will include:
- Water and sand play
- Role play to promote mathematics and physical development
- Literacy and numeracy through Jolly Phonics and Number Zoo schemes
- Write Dance scheme promoting fine and gross motor skills through musical and creative activities.
